We are hoping to compete in the following math competitions this year:

This is a 25-question, 40-minute test taken during our regular practice on November 15th. Everyone on the PLMS Mathletes team will be able to participate.

The WSMC is an annual competition held in Blaine, WA. Schools from all over the state of Washington gather together to compete in mathematics. We formed six teams of four, two teams at each grade level, to participate in the WSMC.

The Math Olympiad location is usually somewhere in Seattle or on the Eastside. PLMS will send six teams of four, two at each grade level, to compete in the Math Olympiad.

Participating students will need to arrange for parent transportation to each competition.

__AMC8 (American Mathematics Contest)__This is a 25-question, 40-minute test taken during our regular practice on November 15th. Everyone on the PLMS Mathletes team will be able to participate.

**Congratulations to Gordon Lee, who earned 3rd place individual at the Chapter Competition on Feb 11th. Also, congratulations to our PLMS team, comprised of 8th graders Kevin Chen, Gordon Lee, Meryl Seah, and Alex Tsai, who won 3rd place at the Chapter Competition. Our team will advance to the State Competition on March 24th, and possibly the national Mathcounts competition in May in Orlando, Florida! The MathCounts State Competition will be held at Microsoft in Redmond.**__Mathcounts (Jan 10th, Jan 17th, Feb 11th, Mar 24th, and May 11th)__
