Course Description & Textbook
- The middle school mathematics curriculum in the Issaquah School District is Connected Mathematics Project 2 (CMP2).
- The overarching goal of CMP2 is that all students should be able to reason and communicate proficiently in mathematics. Students should have knowledge of and skill in the use of vocabulary, forms of representation, materials, tools, techniques, and intellectual methods of the discipline of mathematics, including the ability to define and solve problems with reason, insight, inventiveness, and technical proficiency.
- Middle school course content focuses on four major strands: number & operation, geometry & measurement, data & probability, and algebra.
- Online resources for each unit of study are available at the CMP2 website (see the CMP2 Curriculum page on his website). I strongly recommend bookmarking this web address and exploring the site throughout the school year. You will find video tutorials, parent guides, homework help, skills practice, and interactive student activities correlated with each unit, along with many other resources.
